Petroleum Experts has renewed through December 2023 a grant of a set of software packages to the Illinois State Geological Survey and Department of Earth Science & Environmental Change (formerly Geology) to use in research and education. This software enhances the ISGS capabilities in subsurface interpretation. The yearly value of this grant is more than $2.7 million. The university contact for this grant is Dr. Sherilyn Williams-Stroud.
The Move software is the most complete structural geology modeling and analysis toolkit available. It provides an integrated platform for interpreting data, cross-section construction, 3D model building, kinematic restoration and validation, geomechanical modeling, fracture modeling, fault response modeling, sediment modeling, and fault and stress analysis. The complete software package awarded also includes Integrated modules for digital field mapping applications for data collection using smartphone and tablet.
