Renowned Argentinian Geomorphologist to Visit ISGS as a George A. Miller Visiting Professor

The Impact of Climate Change on the Glaciers CoverThe Illinois State Geological Survey, Prairie Research Institute and the Departments of Geology and Atmospheric Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), cordially welcome Dr. Jorge Rabassa to campus in April and May. Dr. Rabassa is traveling to Illinois from southernmost Argentina, where he is presently the Director of the Centro Austral de Investigaciones Científicas at Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego. During his visit, Dr. Rabassa will present a series of lectures and presentations to faculty, staff, and students from UIUC and other universities, and to the larger community that are both scientific and topical in nature. His stay will be highlighted by the MillerComm lecture “The Impact of Climate Change on the Glaciers of Patagonia and Tierra Del Fuego,” to be presented on Tuesday April 26, 2016, at 4 p.m. in the Knight Auditorium, Spurlock Museum.
