I support PC and network services including computers, software, hardware, and peripheral devices such as printers and scanners. Maintain wide-format plotter and scanner environment and provide technical support for plotting projects involving producing posters for display at professional meetings, educational materials, draft project maps, and published versions of maps printed on demand.
I build (software loads and deployment) of most of the desktop pc's found at the ISGS.
I'm responsible for the backing up and restoring most of the data found on both desktop machines and servers throughout the ISGS.
I serve as the GIS Lab administrator and the plotter administrator. My duties as lab administrator are to oversee use of the equipment and respond to questions or problems that arise. I also perform digitizing and scanning to help create some of the maps produced at the Survey.
My duties as plotter administrator are to maintain the smooth running of the plotters and to answer staff questions. I also work with people outside the Survey to help them generate plots for various events, which could be as simple as answering a question to creating and sending the plot file itself.
